What waterproof labels should I order for bottles, jars and coolers?
| Best all-purpose material | White vinyl + UV laminate |
|---|---|
| Clear bottles and jars | Clear vinyl, white ink available |
| Dishwasher | Top-rack safe after 24 h cure |
| Cold use | Apply warm and dry, then allow 24 h to cure |
| Proof | Free digital proof before printing |
Pick the material by container
| Container or use | Best choice | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Water bottle or tumbler | White vinyl with gloss or matte laminate | Strong color and dishwasher durability |
| Clear jar or bottle | Clear vinyl with a white ink underbase | Keeps the package visible without washing out the logo |
| Cooler or textured plastic | High-tack vinyl | Grips surfaces standard adhesive may not hold |
| Refrigerated jar or bottle | Laminated white or clear vinyl | Handles condensation and cold after it cures |
Measure before you order
Measure the flat printable area instead of the full height of the container. For a wrap label, cover no more than about 80% of the circumference so the ends do not have to meet perfectly. Rounded corners resist edge lift better than sharp corners.
Apply it so it stays waterproof
- Bring cold containers to room temperature and remove all condensation.
- Clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol and let it dry.
- Press from the center outward, especially around curved edges.
- Wait 24 hours before refrigeration, washing or immersion.
Water cannot damage the vinyl or printed face because every label receives a protective laminate. Surface preparation is what determines whether the adhesive reaches its full bond.
What happens before printing
Upload your artwork and choose the exact dimensions. We send a free digital proof showing the final size, cut line and finish before anything prints. If the container is sharply curved, textured or made from polypropylene or polyethylene, name the surface in your order notes so the adhesive can be checked.
Related questions
- Are these labels really waterproof?
- Yes. The vinyl and laminated printed face are fully waterproof, not merely splash resistant.
- Can they go in a dishwasher?
- Yes, on the top rack after the adhesive has cured for 24 hours.
- Should I use white or clear labels on bottles?
- Use white vinyl for the strongest color. Choose clear when you want the bottle to show through, with a white ink underbase where the artwork must stay opaque.
