What should I order for custom product labels on packaging?
For retail packaging, laminated vinyl labels resist moisture, oils and refrigeration, which paper stock does not. Vinyl or paper
Paper labels look right on a dry goods box and cost less, but they stain, tear and curl the moment they meet condensation. If the product is refrigerated, handled with wet hands, oily, or lives in a bathroom or a cooler, use laminated vinyl. Everything we print for packaging is vinyl with a laminate over the ink.
Sizing to a container
- Measure the flat, printable area — not the full height of the jar.
- Keep the label inside 80% of the circumference so the ends do not have to meet perfectly.
- Leave 0.125 in of clear space inside the cut line for every piece of text and every logo.
- Round corners survive handling much better than square ones; they resist peel at the corner.
