Are your custom stickers waterproof?
Yes, fully waterproof. Our stickers are printed on vinyl, not paper, and covered with a UV laminate, so water cannot reach the ink. They survive rain, snow, dishwashers, car washes, hot tubs and salt water without fading, bubbling or peeling.
| Rain and snow | Unaffected |
|---|---|
| Dishwasher | Top rack safe after 24 h cure |
| Car wash | Safe, including pressure wash at distance |
| Salt water | Safe, rinse occasionally |
Why they are truly waterproof
Water damages a sticker in two places: the printed face and the adhesive. Vinyl is a polymer, so it does not absorb water the way paper does, and the UV laminate seals the ink underneath a continuous film. Our permanent acrylic adhesive is a water-resistant chemistry, unlike the water-based glues on cheap paper labels.
Real-world conditions we test against
- Water bottles that go through a dishwasher weekly
- Kayaks, coolers, surfboards and boat hulls in salt water
- Vehicle bumpers and tailgates through automatic car washes
- Outdoor equipment left in rain and snow year round
- Hard hats and tool cases on job sites
The two rules that actually matter
- Wait 24 hours before the first wash. The adhesive needs a full cure to reach maximum bond. Almost every "it peeled" story starts with a sticker that got wet the same day it was applied.
- Keep a pressure washer nozzle 12+ inches away and off the sticker edge. Direct point-blank pressure will lift the edge of any adhesive film on earth.
Waterproof vs water resistant
Plenty of sellers describe paper labels with a spray coating as "water resistant". Those survive a splash, not a soak. If a listing does not say vinyl and laminated, assume it is not waterproof.
Related questions
- Are they dishwasher safe?
- Yes, on the top rack, after a 24 hour cure. Commercial dishwashers running above 180 F with strong caustics will eventually attack the edge of any label.
