Why cannabis labels are their own printing problem

A cannabis label carries more required information per square inch than almost anything else on a retail shelf: potency in milligrams, servings, net weight, full ingredients, allergens, batch and lot codes, a packaged-on date, the universal symbol, a multi-line warning block and a QR code that resolves to a certificate of analysis. All of that has to coexist with branding that has to look good in a display case.

We print on an 11-color press onto 3.4 mil white or clear vinyl and finish with a laminate, which is what lets 6pt ingredient text stay sharp and keeps a COA QR code scannable after the jar has been handled a hundred times. Oil, water and scuff resistant, 25 minimum, free shipping over $100.

Frequently asked questions

How small can required text be on a cannabis label?

6pt is the practical floor on laminated vinyl printed on an 11-color press. If your ingredients or warning copy has to go smaller than that to fit, the label itself is undersized for the content.

Do you handle compliance for my state?

No. We print what you supply and don't review artwork for regulatory compliance. What we handle is print quality: potency panels, batch codes, warning blocks and COA QR codes that stay legible and durable.

What's the minimum order?

25 labels or stickers per design, which makes single-batch and single-strain runs practical.

Will a COA QR code scan reliably off the label?

Yes, if it's at least about 0.6 inches square, printed on a flat high-contrast area with no gradient or texture behind it.
