What size banner should I order?

Our real size limits

Banners print from a 64 in roll that hems down to about 62 in usable, so one side must be 60 in (5 ft) or less and the other can run up to 600 in (50 ft). Orientation does not matter: either side can be the long one. Minimum is 12 in per side.

If you need something wider than 5 ft, we split it into panels that hang side by side, which is standard practice for large backdrops anyway.

Make sure it can be read

A rough field rule for headline text: 1 in of letter height per 10 ft of viewing distance, and double it for traffic moving at speed.

Read fromMinimum letter height
10 ft (booth)1 in
50 ft (storefront)5 in
100 ft (fence, parking lot)10 in
35 mph roadside15 in+

Fewer words at a larger size beats a paragraph nobody can read.

Designing it

Use the banner designer to set the exact size first, then lay out the artwork. Changing size after the layout is done means refitting everything.
