What is the difference between 11-color and 4-color CMYK sticker printing?
Four-color CMYK mixes every color from cyan, magenta, yellow and black, which leaves saturated oranges, greens and violets out of reach and makes gradients band. Our 11-color Epson UltraChrome process adds dedicated orange, green and violet inks plus light cyan, light magenta and three black densities, so brand colors reproduce accurately and tonal transitions stay smooth.

The problem with four inks
CMYK is a subtractive system: every color you see is built by overlapping four inks. That works well for most of the spectrum and badly at the edges. Saturated orange comes out muddy because it is faked from magenta plus yellow. Bright green goes flat because it is cyan plus yellow. Violet turns navy. These are not subtle differences to a brand owner who has a color standard.
What the extra seven channels do

Where you actually see it
- Logos with a defined brand color. Especially orange, green, teal and purple, which is a large share of real brand palettes.
- Photographic art. Skin tones and sky gradients are where four-ink printing gives itself away.
- Fades and drop shadows. Banding in a gradient is a dot-density problem; more channels means finer steps.
- Dark art. Three black densities produce a deep neutral black rather than a brown or purple-cast one.
What it does not fix
It does not rescue a low-resolution file, and it does not turn an RGB screen color into an identical printed color; no ink process can. Send artwork at 300 DPI at final size and include a Pantone reference if you have a hard color standard.

- CMYK is more predictable, but send RGB if that is what you have. Our 11-ink gamut reproduces far more of the RGB range than a 4-color press can, so we would rather convert your RGB file ourselves than receive one already flattened to CMYK.

- We match closely for most Pantone spot colors. Send the Pantone number with your artwork. Metallic and neon Pantones cannot be reproduced by any CMYK-family ink set.
