Cold
Cured vinyl stays flexible well below freezing. Freezer product labels, ski gear, snowmobiles and cold-chain packaging are all routine applications. The failure mode is never the cold itself, it is applying to a cold or condensating surface. Bring the container to room temperature, dry it fully, apply, wait 24 hours, then freeze.
Heat
Dashboards in Phoenix, truck hoods, hot tub cabinets and commercial kitchens are all fine. Above about 200 F the adhesive begins to soften and the laminate can haze. For engine components, exhaust adjacency or autoclave sterilization, vinyl is the wrong material and we will point you at anodized metal or polyimide tags instead.
Thermal cycling
Repeated expansion and contraction, common on vehicle panels and outdoor equipment, is harder on a sticker than any single temperature. Two things help: apply with firm pressure so there are no trapped air pockets to expand, and round your corners. Square corners are the first place a cycling substrate lifts an edge.
Powder coating and paint curing
Do not apply before a bake cycle. Apply after the surface has cooled and cured, minimum 48 hours after fresh paint, or the outgassing solvent will bubble underneath the vinyl.
