Why choose a matte finish
Matte vinyl kills reflection. Where a gloss laminate bounces overhead lighting straight back at the viewer, a matte sticker stays readable under store lights, camera flashes and direct sun — which is why it dominates product labels, packaging seals and anything that gets photographed.
The trade-off is saturation. Matte lifts blacks slightly and softens the punch of very bright colours, so neon and photographic artwork reads a touch flatter than the same file on gloss. Illustrated logos, typography and muted palettes usually look better matte than glossy.

Is matte more expensive than gloss?
No. Matte and gloss laminate are priced the same — pick whichever suits the artwork and the lighting where the sticker will live.
Is matte still waterproof?
Yes. The laminate is the waterproofing layer regardless of finish, so matte stickers survive dishwashers, rain and outdoor exposure the same as gloss.
Can I write on a matte sticker?
Yes. Matte takes pen and permanent marker cleanly, which makes it the right choice for date labels, inventory tags and anything filled in by hand.
Which finish is better for dark artwork?
Gloss makes dark artwork richer; matte makes it easier to read under bright light and hides fingerprints. For dark packaging that gets handled, matte usually looks better after a week in the real world.
